Somewhat disappointed with the DSOTM Immersion set, no live concert footage of the album, opted for the Experience addition of WYWH, because, let's be honest, the Immersion set was very little additional content for 5 times the price. After all, I can see the animated "Welcome to the Machine" clip on You Tube. But I was really excited about The Wall Immersion Set, and wasn't disappointed. This one really has some teeth to it, as far as extra content goes, that is if you really like Pink Floyd and want to hear it.Disk 1 & 2 were the 2011 re-masters. To be honest, I can't tell the difference. I've read a lot of reviews about the re-master that complained about the volume level, and I agree they could have turned it up a lot. I thought that was the reason for re-masters, to get a crisper, cleaner sound at a higher level. I still have to crank this one, then when I shuffle into another song on another album, my ear drums blow out. Believe me, I didn't give this 5 Stars for the re-master, and I was so hoping this would be a great re-master.Disk 3 & 4 were re-masters of "Is Anybody out There", the original wall concert released in 2000. If you don't already have the album, it's worth having. If you do have it, this re-master doesn't make the Immersion set worth buying. It's kind of like, "okay, I have another copy of this, in case I lose the other one."So I kinda blew off over 50% of this box set, as a so what, so why did I give it 5 stars.Well, it's the two disks of bonus material. There is a lot of really good material here that you've never heard before, the antithesis of the DSOTM and WYWH box sets, and what they were missing. If you really want to hear the evolution of the great songs on this album, you get a really good taste of it. From Roger Waters home demos, (Short clips and wish they would have been longer) to David Gilmour's original Demo of the Music which became "Comfortably Numb" and "Run Like Hell". Even in these earliest Demos you can defiantly here where Roger was going with this stuff and why Gilmour's contribution to the Album was more then what he is given credit for. The band demos are great too, as you here how the songs developed. "Teacher, Teacher" which ended up on The Final Cut with revamped lyrics and "Sexual Revolution" which ended up on Pros and Cons of Hitchhiking were outtakes from the original demos. Some of these band demos actually are fun to listen to as well as being educational. I am so happy they released these, however, if you are not a big Floyd fan, you may find some of this stuff tedious. The disk of video material, though still sparse in my estimation, is much better than the other two Immersion sets. There is about 75 plus minutes of material here, most of which is the Behind the Wall documentary, which I've seen before but don't have on a DVD. Also, one cut "The Happiest Days of our Lives" from the original wall concert, which was really enjoyable to watch, though it left me wanting for more of it. The Gerald Scarfe Interview was decent, and overall, this was a good video disk. To the band, please release the wall concert video. You apparently have the material.Overall, this is what an Immersion set should be. You shouldn't be able to digest everything in one sitting, and the extra material should be stuff you've never heard before. It will take awhile to get through this one.
