Like all of these things, it does take several hours to put it together.As is typical, the instructions just have pictures and no words.You have to look at the pics real carefully and count all the parts for each step to make sure you are putting it all together at the correct time.Once it is all built, it seems to be fairly well made and quite sturdy for the price.We have no complaints after 2 weeks of use :-)
