lets be clear. all these things are fiddly to assemble and mount. this one is no exception. As there are a lot of critically placed fasteners to mount, and since i was doing this without a helper, I pre mounted the entire thing to a board while on the flat. then i removed the parts and hung the board. remember, loaded up this assembly can be pretty heavy so a good, solid fastening job to the wall is required. When it was finally mounted to studs i fastened some quarter round to the edges and finish painted the assembly. Then, piece by piece i remounted the shelves and braces. good to go. I know it is rated at 50 pounds, which is a joke re. what will actually hang there, iron pots and pans and heavy stainless pots and pans. I guess all-in maybe 200 lbs. This shelf set is heavy duty and will take that load just fine. The devil is in getting it properly mounted to a wall, which is easily done the way i did it. I was driven by vivid memories of an entire wall cabinet falling off a wall in a rental on Thanksgiving morning. It was fully loaded of course. When you shop for one of these check out the shipping weight and mount it as if the 225 lb handyperson was hanging off it and bouncing.
